Ingrid Pitt Ingrid Pitt, Caroline Munro and Veronica Carlson are three of my favorite people. I’ve been acquainted with them for more than a decade now and every time I have the opportunity to see any one of them these generous women always make me feel welcome and cared about. I had the pleasure of being in the company of Ingrid and Caroline, albeit briefly, in Cherry Hill, NJ a couple of months ago. They are two lovely ladies, just as gorgeous as ever and with the same biting wit I remember from the first time I met them at the late, lamented Fanex Convention in Towson, MD. We caught up, shared some laughs and took a couple of pictures [in which you will see why they are the glamorous movie stars and I lurk behind a keyboard and rarely let myself be seen]. |

I’ll get more information up at this website on the exploits of the Ladies of Hammer, and soon. In the meantime, I want to be sure you all know what they’re up to right now. Ingrid has formed a company to make Hammer-type movies. It’s called Hammer Glammer Films Ltd., and the other company directors are Caroline Munro, Veronica Carlson and Steffie Pitt. I am anxious with anticipation and wish them all the luck. Ingrid’s autobiography, updated, revised and renamed Darkness Before Dawn has just been published in America by Midnight Marquee Press. Grab it while you can even though Ingrid insists that she’s “nobody really.” She obviously doesn’t read her own press. —Jessie Lilley |
