Richard Valley

I recently learned of the death of Richard Valley, Publisher and Editor-in-chief of Scarlet Street magazine. I knew Richard for nigh on 20 years and he and I, together with Tom Amorosi, Jill Clarvit, Kevin Shinnick and Sally Jane Gellert created the best damned horror mag the world had seen since FM.

He and I had a parting of the ways more than a decade ago, but the friendship that was once there held many happy (and hilarious) memories.

My personal condolences to his mother, Tom his long-time partner and all others who knew and loved him. Too soon Richard. Leave it to you to upstage my next issue. Your timing was always exquisite.

I've missed you and now I miss you even more.
